Meraki Cihangir Cafe is a cozy, welcoming spot tucked into the lively streets of Beyoğlu. It functions as much like a neighborhood living room as a cafe, where locals and visitors alike drop by for a well-crafted coffee and a relaxed pause from the busier parts of Istanbul. The atmosphere here leans toward quiet comfort, with an inviting warmth that stems as much from the friendly owners as the space itself.

The cafe doesn’t shout for attention but draws people in with its blend of comfortable seating and a calm creative vibe—ideal for a slow morning or a casual afternoon break. The presence of Loki, the cafe’s friendly dog mascot, adds a casual, homey element that makes it feel more like someone’s living room than a typical cafe. The owners engage warmly with guests, which adds to the sense of ease and belonging.

Meraki has a reputation among locals and travelers for good, honest food — including fresh pastries that occasionally come straight from the oven. While their offerings lean toward simple, high-quality bites, those who catch the spanakopita fresh out of the oven speak highly of it. Vegan options are also available, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to diverse preferences.

This is the kind of spot that suits anyone looking to linger over excellent coffee and savor a quiet moment, whether working on a laptop, catching up with a friend, or resting after exploring the city. It’s particularly pleasant in the afternoons when the light softens and the cafe quiets down a bit, allowing the cozy atmosphere to take hold.

Located on Sadri Alışık Street in the Kuloglu area, Meraki fits naturally into the neighborhood’s artistic and eclectic character. It’s not a place for hurried stops but for those who appreciate a calm, personalized cafe experience where the focus sits on quality, friendliness, and a strong sense of community.

Probably one of the nicest and cutest cafes in Istanbul. The owners are really warm and friendly, and Loki the dog is the perfect mascot. The food is delicious, if you manage to get the spanakopita straight from the oven you should try it!

This Cafe quickly became one of my favorite places in Istanbul. The ambiance is warm, creative, and full of character; the kind of spot where you instantly feel at home. Dimitri, the owner, is incredibly hospitable and genuinely passionate about what he does, which makes the whole experience even more special. We loved it so much that we made a point to come back before leaving town. If you’re looking for a cozy café with great energy and wonderful people, excellent food and amazing coffee and tea, this is your place!

If you are lucky enough to stumble upon Meraki cafe, you will be very fortunate. It's like coming home. Google maps set us on a wild goose chase to find a juice bar that didn't exist. We'd given up and we were heading back to the hotel when we found this beautiful place. A warm welcome and a friendly face, cannot be underestimated when you are a stranger in a city. We were so tired after a day of seeing the sights, so to sit down and relax was heavenly. It was so nice to speak to the owner and his wife and to hear their stories. Loki, the doggie, was adorable. Lovely seats on the terrace outside and inside is like a little emporium of nic nacs and comfortable seating. We didn't unfortunately have enough time to go back but if you are visiting Istanbul I would recommend that you put this on your To Do list. Yes there is beauty in the architecture and history of the city but the real beauty is meeting the wonderful people at the Meraki Cafe. My only worry as I'm saying this, is that next time we visit, there will be queues around the block to get in!!!

Words can't express the feeling of this amazing place. The warmth and hospitality of Dimitris and Kerem match perfectly with all the tasteful things this cozy cafe has to offer! The best coffee we had in Istanbul and the most delicious pastry I've tried so far here. I'm amazed by the quality of the ingredients the use. For sure you can taste them in every bite. This is the place to come in order to relax and feel welcome. Don't miss it! Ps especially for the Greeks: freedo coffee is actually a freddo coffee!

Amazing little place serving excellent Greek food and drinks! The music was also very relaxing and nice! We had coffee and Greek cheese pie and spinach pie. Dimitri’s was an amazing host and he himself prepares everything. He told us he even cooks a homemade meal everyday! Can’t wait to go again and try it out!

An excellent choice if you’re ever in Istanbul, especially in Cihangir. Greek specialties served at their absolute best, usually deconstructed but with such novelty and personal touch. Dimitris always there with incredible service that makes the experience even more memorable. A must-visit for anyone craving top-notch specialties in a relaxed and long manner the Greek way. I went there during August by chance. Visiting Istanbul again this weekend, i could not but revisit.
